An easy way to manage the IP ranges accross multiple probes is to add a Probe Cluster, assign the probes to that cluster then apply the IP ranges to the cluster instead of to the individual probes.  This allows UD to allocate the ranges to the probes for you.

To add a Probe Cluster

  • Data Flow Management>Data Flow Probe Setup.

  • Expand the Probe Domain you want to add the Cluster to.

  • Select 'Data Flow Probes'

  • Select the Yellow Asterix and then 'New Cluster'

1. If you are working with existing probes that have IP addresses assigned already there are two approaches.
Leave the existing IPs on the probes they are on.  If this is the preferred option Click on the new cluster in the D & P pain and then the '+' button to assign the probes.  This will leave all the IPs assigned as they currently are but all new ranges added will be assigned to the Cluster level and desseminated to the least used probe

2. Export the IP ranges of all probes to individual CSV files

  • Delete all existing probe ranges

  • Create the Probe Cluster (shown above)

  • Assign the probes to the cluster - Click on the new cluster in the D & P pain and then the '+' button to assign the probes.

  • Import the CSV files you exported earlier

UD will manage the IPs accross the probes from the start
